Dylan started out his birthday by playing his 2nd soccer game. The main coach was not in town, so Dave as the assistant coach was calling the plays. I think Dylan really likes having Dave being a coach and being out on the field with him. Dylan didn't make any goals this game, but that's okay he still had fun running around on the field.
Malaia even got a little foot action in....even though it was just on the sidelines.
Then we went home and enjoyed lunch and Dylan let us know what he decided to do for his birthday. We gave him two choices, bowling or go see a movie. He picked bowling! I'm not surprised because he has been asking to go for weeks! It was lots of fun and we all actually bowled pretty well for once! Malaia even had fun "helping" Dave and me bowl.
This is the kids after bowling driving onto our next destination. Dylan didn't want his picture taken but I got it anyways! :)
After bowling, we told Dylan we had a surprise for him and had him guess where we were going. After a few guesses and when we were almost there, he finally guessed.....
We brought him here, so he could use his birthday money from Grandpa and Grandma Brown to pick out a gamecube game. After looking at all the games and trying to decision which one he wanted the most, he picked out "MarioKart: Double Dash!!".
We prominently went home and played it until dinner time! Its the only game he now plays. The newest may wear off some time....but I don't think anytime soon! For dinner, we decided to go to Red Robin, so Dylan could get his free birthday dinner. Dave and I were hoping they would come out to sing to him, but the waitress informed us they don't sing there. However, they still bring him an ice cream pie slice. He thought it was great that he got ice cream without getting embarrassed!
Since we ended up eating a later dinner, but the time we got home it was bedtime. So we had Dylan blow out his candles on his birthday cake and open his presents the next day.
